     This action is in response to letters dated March 30., and
Hay 13, 1976, from David L. Cleary, equ ra, on behalf of
Master Sergoant              , USA, Retired,           , appealing
the determination- of our Transportation and Claims Division (now
Claba. Division), which by mettleaent dated Harob 7, 1974, disallowed
Sergeant        claim for reImbursement of  ipawiseu incurred in
shipping his household goods from TayetteviLle, North Carolina, to
Barr*, Vermont, incident to his retirement from the fltad States
Army on February 29, 1972.

     The record shows that by Latter Orders Number 11-2373, Issued
by Roadquartors, Utted States Army, John F. Knnady Center for
Military Assistance. Fort Bragg, North Carolina, dated uovm bor 190
1971, Sergeant      was relieved from active duty, effective Febru-
ary 29, 1972,'' His last permanent duty station was Yort Bragg,
North Carolina, and his'indidated praeneat address for retirement
purposes wea to be. barre, Vetuont.

     The file reflects that the initial corrospondence from the
member by which his claim was presented indicated ,tht he moved
his household goods from Fayetteville, North Cavolina, to Barr*,
Vermont, during the period March 1-30 1972. That alaim for reiz-
bursemant of personal einditures in connection with the move
was disallowed by the United States Army Finance Center,
Tndianapolim, indans, on grounds that the clain was not supported
by paid receipts and'other documents as required by regulations.
After further inquiry by Sergeant     0 the $i.ane Center
forwarded the -claim to the Transportation and Clabo Division of
this Office on December 26, 1972, as a doubtful lalim.
