                  Navajo Freight Lines, Inc. (Navajo), by eorrespondmnce dated
             January 28, 1976, and Aupst 17S 1976, requests revie by the
             Coptroller  General of the Unite States of deduction actions
             take. by the Tormer Transportation and Claims Division (TCD) of
             the General AMcounting Office, now a part of the General Services
             Administratiom. See  the General Accounting Office Act of 1974,
             88 Stat. 1959, approved January 2, 1975. Deduction actics
             constitute settlemnts within the meaning of Section 201(3) of
             that Act, 49 U.S.C. 66(b) (Supp. V 1975) and of 4 C.F.R. 53.1(b)
             (1) and 53.2 (1976). Navajo's correspondence is in substantial
             compliance with the requirement of 4 C..R. 3.3 and 53.4 (1976),
             establishing the carrier's right to a review of a rSA settlament
             by the Comptroller General.

                  Navajo's corsapodence  dated Junuary 28, 1976, concerns
             Cwernment bill of lading No, D*82?1398 which covered a shipment
             consiating-of 1,624 pounda of blankets, N01, from Clearfiold- Utah,
             to Gallup, New Mexico, on June 23, 1972. TCD issued a notice of
             overcharge for 457.65 which was collected frem monies otherwise
             due the carrier. The carrier flled a p:otest t, the amount deducted.
             On February 29, 1976, GSA issued a certilficate Df settlement for
             $22,90 to the carrier. The certificate of settle at appears to
             be self**planatory and apparently the carrier hat not received
             At when it filed Ite request for review.

                 Navajo'z correspondence dated August 17, 1976, concerns
             Govqrament bill of lading No. F*7349731, dated December 21, 1972,
             %hich covered 1he transportation of 40 am chairs welghing 2,800
             pounds from Washington, D.C., to the Veterans Administration
             Hospital, Brooklyn, New Yor;. Navajo assessed and the Goverament
             pild freight charges of $396..16 on the shipment.

                 The origin of the  hipment is sheam on the Government bill of
             lading as Washington, D.C., and the ',1l name of the shipper is
             shuwn as Shelby Williams Industries cl G. M. Perky. Based on
