As I testified, GAO has been actively involved in improving government's performance in the critically important homeland security area. And we look forward to continuing to work with your committee as it considers the many areas identified by the Commission as in need of reform. During the question-and-answer period of my testimony Congressman Christopher Shays asked us to prepare a summary of the Commission's recommendations and provide GAO's opinion as to whether the particular recommendations could be implemented administratively or required legislation to implement.
