In my capacity as Director of the Energy and Minerals Division of the U.S. General Accounting Office, I have great deal of interest in the subjects on the agenda. I have been asked to discuss Erecent GAO studies in the field of energy I would like to approach this by first briefly discussing the broad function of the GAO and then focus on the specific role and activities of the Energy and Minerals Division.
