Like you, we believe that there are significant opportun- ities to improve the economy, efficiency, and effectiveness of federal agency operations. In this era of budget stringency, good management is essential and we agree that the subject deserves greater emphasis. As requested, my statement will provide a brief overview of current government management improvement efforts.
