The President proposed three rescissions, as follows, affecting budget authority made available to the Department of Defense for military procurement: R86-81 - Procurement of weapons and tracked combat vehicles, Army $34,400,000 R86-82 - Shipbuilding and conversion, Navy $40,100,000 R86-83 - Other procurement, Air Force $40,000,000 We have reviewed these rescission proposals. The enclosure provides all information we identified which we believe will be useful to the Congress in its examination of these proposals. The 45-day period of continuous session during which the funds may be withheld pending congressional consideration of a rescission bill will end on June 21, 1986.
