Restivo This is in response to your letter of Otober 26, 197 reference ACFPT, with enclosures, req uesting an advance decision on whether the V claim for temporary storage submitted by Hr. Everett L, Eblen, Jr., may properly be certified (or payment, The record presented shows that Hr. Ebleu was aurhorized by travel orer number AA-39, issued July 3, 1973, to move his household goods fromi Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, to Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, inci- dent to his appointment in the Federal service. Your office has re- imbursed the expenses of the move with the ex-eption of the costs Mr. Eblen incurred in connection with teporary storage, reimburse- ment of which is permitted when transportation of household goods is authorized, Reimbursement of those coats was not allowed because in your opinion the documentation provided by Hr. Eblen did not comply vdtih paragraph C 7051, section 2b of Volume II, Joint Travel Regula- tions (JTR)(December 1, 1971). This paragraph provides in part thit: When shipment is made on & co=.uted rate basis A * *, reimbursement is subject to the table of allor ances in the General Services Acfiuistration Commuted Rate Schedule in Appendix A. Reimburse- sent irill not, howevcr, exceed the amount icttully paid by the employee for storage.
