         quaters, Naval Station, Adak, Alaska, on July 3, .972, authorlued air
         travel for lit. lood and his dependents fron Adak, Alaska, to Corpus Christi,
         Texas, end return. Hr. U ood and his dependents denarted Alal- on August 16,
         1972, and flow to Portland, Oregon, arriving thert on August 17, 19,72. They
         departed Portland via private autonobile on Aurrust 21, 1972, and arrived in.
         Corpus Christi on August 26, 1972.  On August 30, ! :'2 thy departod
         Corpus Christi via private automobile and arrived in Portland, Oregon, on
         September 2, 1972. Qn September 3, 1972, tthey traveled via air and arrived
         at Adak on Bcptuber 4, 1972.

         Adak, serial number 7471.  You state the laim for mileage is doubtful
         because the log indicats that numbers 7469 and 7470 are dated September 25,
         1972, and the retained file contains identical copies if the first endorse-
         ment with one buarin3 the August dfte und the other bearing the date of
         eptmber 26, 1972. Inasmuch s serial number 7471 should have been issued
         on or about September 26, 1972, after the travel had been performed, you
