     This Is in reply to your letter dated April 6# 1973, requesting our
decisiaon as to whether a voucher submitted by Mr. Claude H. Thoas, en
employee of the bureau of Sport Fisheries and Wildlife, In th. an ouut of
$l258.6l for relocation expenses, may be certified for payment.

     The pertinent facts surrounding this request are set forth Ln your
abo. letter 06 follows

     flr. Thmas was selected for the Depaptmental-ureau anager
     Training program August 1971 to June 1972. Participants in
     these progtms coming to WashLnton D. C,t are carried in a
     tempqrary duty statue and paid per dim during the wntire
     period ne training.  Th3ir official stations are not transe
     ferred to Washington, D. 0., nor are they paid relocation
     allowauces; howver, they are encouraed to bring their
     families vith them at their own expense.
     MrsThois   traveled from his official station Indiahoma,
     tlaoma, to Washington, D. C., vth his wife and two
     children during July 31 to August 4, 1971, to participate
     Lu the training program, He traveud in a rented truck
     which carried his household goods, and his wife drove the
     fmily automobile with the children.

     Mr. Thoani was paid mileage at8 B for the trip plus per diem
     at $25. it * *  e vas paid additional per diem during the
     training p6riod at 425 for the first two weeks and $12.50
     thereafter.  Mo claim vas made at the time for the fmily'a
     transportation, per diem or transportation of household
     goods.
