Several weaknesses GAO identified in the administration of the disability determination process could adversely affect the uniformity of decisions. These weaknesses must be cor- rected if there are to be assurances that--to the extent possible--disability claims are proc- essed uniformly and efficiently throughout the country, regardless of where they are filed.
