In the wake of the Newtown, CT, shootings, several gun control issues are likely to be debated. They are likely to include universal background checks, a ban or greater regulation of certain semiautomatic firearms and large capacity ammunition feeding devices (sometimes referred to as military-style or military grade firearms, or assault weapons), strengthening background checks, improving firearm trace databases, and repealing limitations on certain firearms-related data maintained by the federal government.
