 That, in order to promote and fecure the effential Interefts of
 Great Britain and Ireland, and to confolidate the Strength,
Power, and Refources of the Britifh Empire, it will be
advifable to concur in fuch Meafures as may beft tend to
 unite the two Kingdoms, in fuch Manner, and on fuch
 Terms and Conditions, as may be eflabliflicd by A&s of
' the refpe&ive Parliaments of Great Britain and Ireland.
