216 Annals Am. Acad. Pol. & Soc. Sci. vii (1941)

handle is hein.cow/anamacp0216 and id is 1 raw text is: FOREWORD
AT THE Forty-fifth Annual Meeting of The American Academy of Political and
Social Science, held in Philadelphia on April 4 and 5, 1941, the general topic under
discussion was Defending America's Future. The addresses made on that occa-
sion are collected in this volume of THE ANNALS.
Although there was no session of the meeting devoted to the psychological aspects
of the question, it was felt that they should be given consideration. We are there-
fore grateful for the additional articles of Drs. Ruth Benedict, R. A. Brotemarkle,
Gordon W. Allport, Gregory Zilboorg, and Morris S. Viteles.
An article on What Price Demobilization, prepared by Dr. Leland Rex
Robinson, who presided at the first session of the meeting, has also been added.
