PURPOSE OF THE BILL The purpose of S. 1579 is to enhance and integrate Native Amer- ican tourism, empower Native American communities, increase co- ordination and collaboration between Federal tourism assets, and expand heritage and cultural tourism opportunities in the United States. BACKGROUND AND NEED FOR LEGISLATION During the first six months of 2015, the Department of Com- merce estimated there were over 36 million overseas travelers to the United States.
