                       DELINQUENCY   PREVENTION  REAUTHORIZATION   ACT OF 2015
                            A. BACKGROUND   AND NEED  FOR THE LEGISLATION
                     Congress  passed the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency  Preven-
                   tion Act of 1974 (JJDPA)  to help States and local communities
                   improve  their juvenile justice systems and reduce juvenile delin-
                   quency. Since its enactment, this statute has equipped jurisdictions
                   across the nation with significant resources to help reduce recidi-
