                       The  Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, to whom
                     was  referred the  bill (H.R. 1547) to direct the Secretary  of Trans-
                     portation to conduct  a study  on the costs and  benefits of commuter
                     rail passenger   transportation  involving  transfers,  and  for other
                     purposes,  having  considered   the same,  reports  favorably  thereon
                     with  an amendment and recommends that the bill as amended do
                     pass.
