Mr. GRIJALVA, from the Committee on Natural Resources,
submitted the following

The Committee on Natural Resources, to whom was referred the
bill (H.R. 6199) to revise the boundary of the Ste. Genevieve Na-
tional Historical Park in the State of Missouri, and for other pur-
poses, having considered the same, reports favorably thereon with-
out amendment and recommends that the bill do pass.
PURPOSE OF THE BILL
The purpose of H.R. 6199 is to revise the boundary of the Ste.
Genevieve National Historical Park in the State of Missouri.
BACKGROUND AND NEED FOR LEGISLATION
H.R. 6199 would revise the boundary of the Ste. Genevieve Na-
tional Historical Park1 in the State of Missouri. The legislation
provides for the Secretary of the Interior to acquire, by donation,
the land (including any improvements to the land) that is currently
owned by the city of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, and used as a visitor
center for the Historical Park.
As the oldest European settlement west of the Mississippi River,
Ste. Genevieve represents the early French colonial history of the
