R E P O R T
[To accompany S. 3307]
The Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, to which was
referred the bill (S. 3307), to modify the boundary of the Wilson's
Creek National Battlefield in the State of Missouri, and for other
purposes, having considered the same, reports favorably thereon
with amendments and recommends that the bill, as amended, do
pass.
AMENDMENTS
The amendments are as follows:
1. On page 2, line 14, strike 624 and insert 25.
2. On page 2, line 18, strike September 2021 and insert July
2022.
PURPOSE
The purpose of S. 3307, as ordered reported, is to modify the
boundary of the Wilson's Creek National Battlefield in Missouri to
include approximately 25 acres of the Newtonia Battlefield site.
BACKGROUND AND NEED
Wilson's Creek National Battlefield was established in 1960 to
commemorate and interpret the 1861 Civil War Battle of Wilson's
Creek, Missouri. In 2008, Congress authorized the National Park
Service to evaluate if the Newtonia Battlefields in Newtonia, Mis-
souri, met the criteria for addition to the National Park System as
