Mr. PALLONE, from the Committee on Energy and Commerce,
submitted the following
R E P O R T
[To accompany H.R. 5313]
The Committee on Energy and Commerce, to whom was referred
the bill (H.R. 5313) to protect children and other consumers against
hazards associated with the accidental ingestion of button cell or
coin batteries by requiring the Consumer Product Safety Commis-
sion to promulgate a consumer product safety standard to require
child-resistant closures on consumer products that use such bat-
teries, and for other purposes, having considered the same, reports
favorably thereon with an amendment and recommends that the
bill as amended do pass.
