The Committee on Financial Services, to whom was referred the
bill (H.R. 6158) to amend the Federal Deposit Insurance Act to ex-
clude affiliates and subsidiaries of insured depository institutions
in the definition of deposit broker, and for other purposes, having
considered the same, report favorably thereon without amendment
and recommend that the bill do pass.
PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
Introduced by Representative Scott Tipton on June 20, 2018,
H.R. 6158, the Brokered Deposit Affiliate-Subsidiary Moderniza-
tion Act of 2018 amends the Federal Deposit Insurance Act (12
U.S.C. 1831f) (FDIA) to exempt funds collected through an insured
depository institution's affiliate or subsidiary from the definition of
deposit broker.
