I. HEARINGS AND MEETINGS A. First Session (2015) During the First Session of the 114th Congress, the Committee held 29 hearings, including four field hearings. At those events, the Committee heard testimony from 143 witnesses. Six hearings (May 13, June 3, June 24, September 16, October 6, and November 18) focused exclusively on legislation pending be- fore the Committee. Testimony offered at these hearings covered 46 bills. The Committee held five business meetings. On January 21, one measure was ordered favorably reported out of the Committee; on July 22, five measures were ordered favorably reported out of the Committee; and on December 9, two measures were ordered favorably reported out of the Committee. The Com- mittee held two meetings to discharge nominations. The Committee held five joint hearings with the House Com- mittee on Veterans' Affairs in order to receive legislative presen- tations from veterans service organizations. These hearings were held on February 24, February 25, March 4, March 18, and May 20. The Committee held four field hearings during the First Session. These hearings were held on April 24 in Denver, Colorado; August 21 in Atlanta, Georgia; August 25 in Anchorage, Alaska; and De- cember 14 in Gilbert, Arizona. 69-010
