H.R. 1267 would designate a mountain ridge in the Gallatin National Forest in Montana as
B-47 Ridge and would permit the installation of a plaque that memorializes the crash of a
U.S. Air Force B-47 aircraft at the site. The bill would prohibit the use of federal funds to
design, install, or maintain the plaque.

CBO estimates that implementing H.R. 1267 would have no significant effect on spending
subject to appropriation.

On January 15, 2020, CBO transmitted a cost estimate for S. 490, the B-47 Ridge
Designation Act, as reported by the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources on
December 17, 2019. The two bills are similar and CBO's estimates of their budgetary effects
are the same.

The CBO staff contact for this estimate is Janani Shankaran. The estimate was reviewed by
H. Samuel Papenfuss, Deputy Director of Budget Analysis.
