That program provides technical assistance and grant funding for projects and programs aimed at restoring the Chesapeake Bay. In 2019, EPA received appropriations totaling $73 million to carry out the program. Assuming appropriation of the specified amounts and based on historical spending patterns, CBO estimates that implementing the bill would cost $405 million over the 2020-2024 period and $50 million after 2024.
