Colmery Veterans Education Assistance Act of 2017, as reported by the Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs on August 2, 2017. That legislation includes the same provisions as H.R. 3218, which the President signed into law on August 16, 2017. Thus, S. 1598 would have no budgetary effects relative to current law. Absent the enactment into law of H.R. 3218, the estimated costs of both bills would be the same. The estimate for H.R. 3218 is attached.
