H.R. 412
Nashua River Wild and Scenic River Study Act
As ordered reported by the House Committee on Natural Resources
on June 12, 2013
H.R. 412 would require the National Park Service (NPS) to study segments of the Nashua
River in Massachusetts and New Hampshire for potential addition to the Wild and Scenic
Rivers System. Based on information provided by the NPS, CBO estimates that
implementing the legislation would cost about $350,000 over the next three years,
assuming the availability of appropriated funds. Enacting H.R. 412 would not affect direct
spending or revenues; therefore, pay-as-you-go procedures do not apply.
H.R. 412 contains no intergovernmental or private-sector mandates as defined in the
Unfunded Mandates Reform Act and would not affect the budgets of state, local, or tribal
governments.
The CBO staff contact for this estimate is Martin von Gnechten. The estimate was
approved by Theresa Gullo, Deputy Assistant Director for Budget Analysis.
