This morning, our committee is reviewing the budget submission of the Secretary of the Navy, the Chief of Naval Operations, and the Commandant of the Marine Corps. We appreciate very much the cooperation with our committee in providing statements for our record of the hearing. We have the good fortune of having the best Armed Forces of any Nation. Our committees of jurisdiction have reviewed your written statements, so we invite you to make a summary statement that you think would be helpful to our understanding of your budget submissions.
