  LUTION   199, AGREED   TO  MARCH   28,  1924, A REPORT   OF
  ASSESSED  VALUATIONS FOR TAXATION PURPOSES OF THE
  PROPERTY   OF  CERTAIN  RAILROADS   FOR THE  YEAR  1923

                      INTERSTATE  COMMERCE  COMMISSION,
                                Washington, February 13, 1925.
  SIR: The Interstate Commerce Commission has the honor to trans-
mit herewith its report in response to Senate Resolution No. 199,
adopted March  28, 1924, directing the commission to ascertain from
the proper authorities of each State of the United States the assessed
valuation, on a 100 per cent basis of valuation, as used for taxation
purposes for the year 1923, of all of the property of each of the rail-
roads of the United States acting as common carriers, whether used
for the purposes of common carriers or not, which are under the con-
trol of the Interstate Commerce Commission, and report the said
valuations for taxation purposes to the Senate of the United States.
