     EDUCATION INSTITUTES

     Organizing Small Businesses
  One-day regional institutes on Organiz-
ing Small Businesses will be presented in
four localities during March. The schedule
is as follows: Alexandria-March 10, Rich-
mond-March 17, Roanoke-March 24, and
Abingdon-March 25.
A brochure containing details and regis-
tration application forms will be mailed
to all Virginia lawyers early in February.
The lawyer, in his role as advisor to
business clients, is frequently called upon
to furnish advice concerning the appro-
priate form of business organization. Once
the form of the business entity is deter-
mined, the lawyer's next step is to provide
the legal assistance necessary in organizing
the business. This institute is devoted to
a discussion of the various factors involved
in choosing the form of business entity, and
the practical problems that may be en-
countered in organizing it.
Although by no means basic in scope,
the institute is designed primarily to aid
the lawyer in general practice in dealing
with these problems. The main topics of
 the institute are:
    I. Choice of Form of the Business
       Entity
    II. Practical Problems in Organizing
       General and Limited Partnerships
