LAW SCHOOL ENDOWMENT MEMORIAL BOOK--..
WILL BE UNVEILED AT MEETING ON DECEMBER 10

The Law School Endowment Memorial Book will be
tinv 1ed at a special meeting of the South Carolina Bar As-
sociation at 10:30 A. M. on Saturday, December 10, in the
Assetihly Bloom of tile Law School on the , 'inpus of The
University of South Carolina.
The Ineeting was called by the executive Commlittee of
tile Association and President E. P. Riley of Greenville will
preside. The hook, which now contains memorials to -10
South Carolina jurists and lawyers W\'ill be formally pre-
sentcl t the Universitv's Law School at the meeting.
The, .Memorial Book is a handsomely bolund volume which
will he kept ill a special repository in the Lihrary of the
I.:av School. Two pages are devoted to each person meln-
orialized; ol the left is the expression .Memory Holds the
l)oor.' and the right hand page will contain a short sketch
atnd quotations about the lawyer memorialize(d. The book
will I)c open at different pages each day.
The lRev. Edwin B. Clippard of Anderson, a member of
the Law Class of 1946, will give the invocation. J. Edwin
Belser, of the Law Class of 19f05 will deliver the address of
the occasion.
D)avid \V. lobinson, a past president of the Association,
wvill read the roll of those for whom memorials have been
established and le will also relate the history of the cn-
dowlvlent program for the Law School of the University.
The presentation will be made by Samuel L. Prince, former
(lean of the Law School, and the present dean, Robert McC.
Figg, Jr., will accept the Memorial Book on hehalf of the
University and its Law School.
The book will be unveiled by descendants of the late
John P. Tholnas of Columbia who served for many years as
(lean of the Law School. The book will be then turned over
to Miss Sarah E. Leverette, librarian of the Law School,
for placement in the Memorial repository.
Families and friends of those for whom memorials have
been created will be special guests of the Association at the
unveiling. A reception will be held in the Law School's
Library after the ceremony.

ADDITIONAL MEMORIAL ENDOWMIENi
The forty memorials w'lich have been created for
the endowment of the Law         School of The University
of South Carolina are only a beginning, Samuel L.
Prince, former dean of the School, said in announcing
plans for unveiling of the Endowment Memorial Book.
There are hundreds of judges and           lawyers who
should be memorialized        in this book, Dean Prince
said. We hope that families and friends of deceased
members of the bar will create memorials for the
endowment of the Law School.
The sum of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) is con-
tributed for each memorial, and a page in the hand-
some Memorial Book will be devoted to a sketch of
the one memorialized.
