Unauthorized practice
On Autgust 29 in the Richland County
Court of Common Pleas, lawyers for the
partties atltloutnced that a settlement had

99-0P-40-0160. Tlhe complaint alleged that
the company had committed the unautho-
rized ptacdc of law as well as violations
under the South (arolina Unfair Trade
Practices Act.
The settlement incoiporates a tempe-
tiry injutction issued in February 1999.
'Te terms of that injunction include that
defendiants could not place :advertiscntns
stating that living trusts tiitnize or elimi-
nate estate taxes; that defendants could not
make representations as to the legal effica-
cy or desirability of a living trust; and that
all advertisements must Colntain language

Nothing in the Settlement Order \ill li-

ties \Vill have the right to pustc remedies
available under South Carolina law
