By CLEMENT BATES, Esq.
In the preparation of this volume the
arrangement and general plan of WalKer
& Bates' Digest has been followed, and as
to the merits of that work we need not
speak-it has a nati,inal reputation for ex-
cellence of plan, convenient and logical
arrangement. and thorough and accurate
references ; and ha been used as a model in
the preparation of Digests in other States.
M r. Bates has been at work on this volume
for several years, having digested each
volume of the Reports as published. fie
has exercised the same care and thorough
research in its preparation, which is a
characteristic of all his work.
The manuscript is now ready for the
printer, with the exeption of a small por-
tion which is to embrace the cases of
Volume 37 Ohio State Reports not yet
printed; and this volume of the Digest
will be given to the profession almost sim.
ultaneously with the new volume of the
Reports.
