Ronald L. Kul was born in Topeka, August 13, 1931. He attended the Topeka
public schools and was graduated from the Topeka High School in 1949. Gradu-
ating from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism
in 1953, he worked as a reporter for the Kansas City Star part of 1953.
During the period 1953-1955, Mr. Kull served in the U.S. Army. Upon his return
from the service, he worked as copy editor for the Topeka Daily Capital, 1955-
1956.
He attended the University of Michigan Law School, 1956-1958.
As reporter for the Topeka Capital-journal, 1958-1963, he worked as city hall
reporter, general assignment reporter, state editor and statehouse reporter. As-
signments included coverage of Eisenhower, Truman, Kennedy, Nixon, Johnson,
Humphrey, Khrushchev, Gromyko, Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt, various senators, Icon-
gressmen and cabinet officials.
Kul was appointed executive secretary of the Bar Association of the State of
Kansas, effective August 1, 1963. jJk is a member of the following: Central Con-
gregational Church, Tau Kappa Epsilon social fraternity, Sigma Delta Chi jour-
nalism fraternity, Delta Theta Phi legal fraternity, Siloam Lodge No. 225 A.F. &
A.M., Scottish Rite Bodies, Arab Shrine, Elks, and the Kansas State Chamber of
Commerce.
He is married and he and his wife, Dixie, and their two sons live at 2717 West
19th, Topeka, Kansas.
