HAYNES RECEIVES AWARD
J WILLARD HAYNES, Kansas City, President of the Bar Association of the
0 State of Kansas, was awarded the University of Kansas City Law Alumni
Association citation at the Banquet during the Annual Meeting of the Bar Asso-
ciation of the State of Kansas in Kansas
City, Kansas, May 11, 1956. The pre-
sentation was made by the Honorable Ar-
thur J. Mellott, Chief Judge, United States
District Court of Kansas.
The Award is one which has been
made by the Alumni Association to grad-
uates of the University of Kansas City Law
School who have distinguished themselves
in the profession and was awarded toPres-
ident Haynes in recognition of his attain-
ment in the private practice and for his
participation in bar association work and
his efforts in advancing the profession in
Kansas City and in the State of Kansas.
The plaque which was presented reads
as follows:
The Law Alumni Association of the University of Kansas City presents
to J. Willard Haynes this token of esteem and appreciation for the high
honors he has won and the prestige he has given his alma mater by out-
standing service to the law and long unselfish devotion to the public good.
