'he Iowa Supreme Court Commission on
tinuing Legal Education wishes to remind
attorneys admitted to practice in Iowa that

with the annual report. The reverse side

Eilther the annual report with accompanying
$10.00 fee or an Application for a Certificate
of Exemption must be filed by March 1, 1976.
As a matter of clarification, the Commis-
sion has determined that in defining a clock

DISTRICTS MUST ELECT
NEW BOARD MEMBERS
Pursuant to the provisions of the Bylaws
the following Judicial Election Districts must
elect members to the Board of Governors to
take office on Friday, June 18, 1976 pt the
conclusion of the 103rd Annual Meeting for a
two-year term expiring at the conclusion of
the Annual Meeting in 1978:
District 1-B        1 Member
District 2-A        1 Member-
District 2-B        2 Members
District 3-B        1 Member      ,
District 4          1 Member
District 5-A        2 Members
District 6          2 Members
District 7          2 Members
District 8-A        1 Member
District 8-B        1 Member
The districts not listed do not require elec-
tions because the term of the Board of Gov-
ernors member or members In those districts
does not expire until the close of the Annual
Meeting in 1977. Where a district Is entitled
to more than one Board member, the number
set forth after each district include the Board
memberships that are scheduled for election
for the two year term expiring at the close of
the Annual Meeting in 1978.
All members of the Board of Governors and
every District and County Bar Association
President have been advised of the foregoing
by letter from the Headquarters Office.

New Iowa Uniform
Securities Act, Federal
Exemptions and Anti.
Provisions To Be Featured
At Conference April 1 & 2
A Securities Law Conference, co-sponsored
by the Special Committee on Corporation and
Business Law, the Drake Law School and the
Committee on Federal Regulation of Securities
of the Federal Bar Association, will be held
April 1 and 2, 1976, In Cartwright Hall, the
new home of the Drake Law School. The pro-
gram will qualify for approximately 10 hours
of continuing legal education. Attendance will
be limited to the first 200 registrants. Regis-
tration may be made only in advance of the
conference. Further details and registration
Information will be malled to members of the
Association in the near future.
The three sponsoring organizations con-
cluded that a conference on these topics would
be useful to acquaint Iowa lawyers with the
new laws, regulations and judicial decisions In
this fast growing area of the law. The ob-
jective of the conference will be to present In
a day and a half an overview of federal and
Iowa securities laws as they most often per-
tain to the Iowa practitioner. The con-
ference will be pitched to the level of the
lawyer without prior experience in securities
regulation, but will present an excellent re-
fresher for those lawyers whose practice has
Included some securities work.
The conference will feature three securities
specialists from the Federal Bar Association,
a member of the staff of the Securities and
Exchange Commission, the Asslatant Admin-
istrator of the Iowa Securities Depa iment,
members of the Committee on Corporat n and
Business Law who were active In the drafting
of the Iowa Uniform Securities Act (which
became effective on January 1, 1976) and ex-
perts In other selected areas.
Specific topics will include: Overview of the

The publishers of the following law lists and
legal directories have received certificates of
compliance from the Standing Committee on
Law Lists of the American Bar Association
for their 1976 editions. A certificate of com-
pliance may be treated as evidence that the
law list has been published In compliance with
the provisions of the Code of Professional
Responsibility and the Rules and Standards
for Law Lists.
Disciplinary Rule 2-102(A) (6) of the Code
of Professional Responsibility permits lawyers
to list In a reputable lay list or legal directory
giving brief biographical and other informative
data. A law list or directory Is not reputable
If its management or contents are likely to be
misleading or injurious to the public or to the
profession. A law list is conclusively estab-
lished to be reputable If It Is certified by the
American Bar Association as being in com-
pliance with Its rules and standards.

Hotel reservations for the 103rd An-
nual Meeting of The Iowa State Bar
Association to be held on June 16, 17 and
18, 1976, should be made as soon as
possible In order that all who wish to
attend can obtain rooms.
Hotel Fort Des Moines will be the
headquarters hotel, and rooms may also
be obtained at other Des Moines hotels.
On June 16 there will be meetings of
the Association committees and affiliated
legal groups and the workshop sessions
of the Annual Meeting and take place
on June 17 and 18.
All members are urged to write the
hotel of their choice immediately and re-
serve a room, Indicating In your request
that you are coming to attend The Iowa
State Bar Association Annual Meeting.
Do not write the Headquarters Office,
but do write the hotel of your choice.
