IOWA COURT STUDY
COMMISSION REPORT
TO BE SUBMITTED
TO LEGISLATURE
Coples Being Sent to Membership
The Headquarters Office has been informed
that the final report of the Iowa Court Study
Commission, which will be submitted to the
legislature, Is as of this writing (January 10,
1967) being printed. Copies of the final report
are not at this time available.
All of the members of the Association have
heretofore received the tentative proposals of
the Commission in pamphlet form. It will be
recalled that The Iowa State Bar Foundation
made a grant of $10,000 to defray the cost of
regional meeting programs and the necessary
printing and related material which would be
required in order to inform the public, the
Bench and the Bar of the proposals.
Sufficient copies of the final proposal have
been ordered and, as soon as they are received
from the printer, will be mailed to every mem-
ber of the Association so that the lawyers of
Iowa will know exactly what has been sub-
mitted to the legislature by the Iowa Court
Study Commission.
The Board of Governors has approved cer-
tain of the Commission's proposals which It to
contemplated will be In the final report which
the Commission will submit to the legislature.
The Board of Governors has not approved any
specific plan of Judicial district redistricting.
Al members of the Association are respect-
fully urged to study the report.thoroughly so
that they may be fully informed as to these
most important proposals.
COMPREHENSIVE LEGISLATIVE
PROGRAM UNDERWAY
The Association has embarked upon a most
comprehensive legislative program. The pro-
gram, not listed in any order of priority, is
set forth below. By direction of the Board of
Governors, authority has been given the Ad-
ministration Committee, the Legislative Com-
mittee Chairman and the Secretary to make

DISTRICTS MUST ELECT
NEW BOARD MEMBERS
In accordance with the bylaws of The Iowa
State Bar Association, members of the Board
of Governors of the Association from the
even-numbered judicial districts are elected
in even-numbered years and members from the
odd-numbered districts are elected in odd-
numbered years. Terms of all members run
for two years.
This year being an odd-numbered year,
new members should be elected by members
of the Association in odd-numbered districts.
Results of elections will be made known as
soon as all have taken place, and the newly
elected board members will meet with the
Board of Governors at the first business meet-
ing held at the conclusion of the annual con-
vention of the Association in May.
Members of the Board of Governors must
be lawyers In active practice and may be elect-
ed in any manner in which the lawyers of the
particular district desire. It is requested that
the headquarters office be advised as soon as
the elections have taken place.

the names of the outgoing members whose
terms expire are:
