Volume 21 Number 1 January 1976
PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
As should be done from time to time, a subcommittee of the
Executive Committee is in the process of reviewing the Asso-
ciation's Constitution and By-Laws for possible changes, any
and all of which is to be completed for submission at the
Annual Meeting in June 1976.'
While changes are being considered, there is some thought
of our Association holding a mid-year meeting. The discus-
sions are along the lines of a 2-2j day meeting, possibly in
February. The meeting would have little emphasis on social
activity, but provide a solid program on legal education.
When we consider that the proposed rule on Compulsory CLE is
moving along well towards hoped for adoption, we must look
ahead to provide opportunities for compliance with the rule.
Our CLE programs have been a financial success and the CLE
Committee is expanding and looking forward to broadening its
work.
In the thought of a mid-year meeting, there could be a general
session --not lengthy, but there are matters which your Execu-
tive Committee would feel better about bringing before all the
members in a more timely manner.
Along the above lines, some thought is also given to considera-
tion that nominations for the officers of this Association be
made at the mid-year meeting, to be voted on in June. Such
would give the general membership a better opportunity to know
those persons who will be running the Association before they
are asked to vote.
The SBAND is an association of all its members, and the Execu-
tive Committee would like to hear from you as to any thoughts
you might have as to bettering the Association -- such changes
that might make it more effective and responsive. If you don't
readily find the time to write a letter expressing your thoughts,
then why not pick up the hone and talk to a memb of the Execu-
tive Committee as to you constructive suggesti or criticisms,
as the case may be. Q
