WINTHROP THE YOUNGER.*
By WILLIAM M. MALTBIE

Dr. Horace Bushnell quoted these words from the historian
Bancroft: There is no State in the Union, and I know not of
my in the world, in whose early history, if I were a citizen, I
zould find more of which to be proud. Dr. Bushnell then added

*Address by Chief Justice Maltbie before the Men's Club of Immanuel
Congregational Church, Hartford.
