IN MEMORY OF THE LATE SETH WEAVER BALDWIN
COUNTY COURT HOUSE, MAY 8TH, 1931

MR. PERSKY: The Bar Association will please come to order. This
meeting is called to receive the report of the committee appointed by the
President of the Association to draft and present resolutions on the death
of our brother, Seth W. Baldwin. Judge Munger.
JUDGE MUNGER: Mr. Chairman, The undersigned, a Committee
of the New Haven County Bar Association, beg leave to present the fol-
lowing memorial upon the death of Seth Weaver Baldwin.
Seth Weaver Baldwin was born at Naugatuck, Connecticut, December
7, 1880, the son of Henry C. and Mellicent Ann Baldwin. His father was
for many years a prominent lawyer in Naugatuck.
Seth Baldwin prepared for college at the Naugatuck High School and
entered Yale University, from which he was graduated in the Class of
1904. He attended Yale Law School during the next two years and was
admitted to the Bar of this County in 1906.
During the summer of 1905 and after his admission to the Bar, until
1907, he was in the office of Watrous and Day. From 1907 to 1914 he
occupied the position of Claims Agent for The New York, New Haven
& Hartford Railroad Company and subsidiary companies.
During this year Baldwin left the railroad and became attorney for the
Connecticut Company, holding this position until the date of his death,
May 15th, 1930.
