BULLETIN NUMBER 2.                                 JULY, 1926.
Three reports have been received from the Committee on Professional
Ethics and one from the Special Committee on Legal Aid. The Executive
Committee has authorized the publication of this bulletin that the member-
ship of the association might have without delay the benefit of these
reports. For the purposes of this publication the reports from the Com-
mittee on Professional Ethics are consolidated.
REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON PROFESSIONAL ETHICS
In answering questions, this Committee acts by virtue of the following
provision of the by-laws of the Association:
It shall be authorized, in its discretion, to express its opinion con-
cerning proper professional conduct and particularly concerning the
codes of ethics above referred to when consulted by the officers or
committees or members of this Association.  Such expression of
opinion shall only be made after a consideration thereof at a meeting
of the Committee and approval by at least a majority of the
Committee.
It is understood that this Committee acts upon specific questions sub-
mitted ex parte, and in its answers bases its opinion on such facts only as
are set forth in the questions.
The following question was submitted to the Committee:
QUESTION 1
Is there any impropriety in an attorney permitting his name to be
advertised as attorney or counsel in connection with a bank's or trust
company's announcement of its purposes by advertising in newspapers
or circulars, or upon its letterheads ?
