             EDITOR'S COMMENTS

HIS SYMPOSIUM IS DEVOTED TO LITIGATION ETHICS. The issue leads off with

Lynne Liberato's short, powerful, and refreshingly unconventional piece that
links our profession's ethical canons with the pledge of allegiance. From
there it only gets better. We cover the gamut: from issues arising pre-trial to eth-
ical challenges that lawyers may face in appellate litigation-and a whole lot in
between. Many thanks to the subcommittee that developed this issue (Professor
Ed Dawson (Chair), John Broussard, Judge Jeff Brown, Soraya Yanar Hanshew,
Matthew Hoffman, Roger Hughes, and Ken Slavin). And, of course, we're most
grateful to all of the authors whose contributions will make this symposium a
valuable resource for years to come.

As always, thanks to Rob Ramsey and Luke Soules for another helpful summary
of the recent and most significant procedure and evidence cases from around the
state.
I look forward to your comments. My email is lhoffman@uh.edu.

                                Regards,

                                Lonny Hoffman
                                Editor in Chief
