SERVICE
The Research Committee's plan of having
periodic discussions on special topics has inspired
similar activity by our brethren in the Onondaga
County Bar Association. By this, our first num-
ber of the Erie County Bar Bulletin, we return
the compliment: we confess at once that this
publication was prompted by the useful Circular
Letter which the Syracuse lawyers have been
publishing tri-wee-kly since October 24, 1923. We
-as they-aim to transmit at brief intervals to
the members of our Bar Association information
of definitely practical utility to Erie County
lawyers. Of course, we hope to improve on our
model. We shall endeavor to present up-to-the-
minute legal information with a readable but
pithy succinctness which will enable the busy
practitioner to keep abreast of the latest devel-
opments in the law by a periodic reading of the
Bulletin without any substantial sacrifice of
time. Emphasis will be placed on publishing the
news of latest decisions and events while it is
news. To assist in attaining this important objec-
tive, the co-operation of our judges and lawyers
in transmitting to us with dispatch decisions de-
serving attention is solicited. Comment 'and sug-
gestions with reference to our undertaking are
invited.
The following members of our Association
have generously agreed to select and report the
important decisions and events in the respective
fields of law indicated:

This first number of the Bulletin is being
mailed to every lawyer in Erie County, but in
the future, in view of the expense, it will be
sent only to paid-up members of the Bar Asso-
ciation. The Bulletin will be of substantial serv-
ice to attorneys and is a persuasive reason for
bec'oming a member in good standing at once.
We wvish to acknowledge that in this issue,
for various reasons, we have borrowed from the
Circular Letters of the Onondaga ounty Bar
Association. To its Research Committee-our
thanks.
