Atexico___-...--_......_.. -_ ---_-.-_-__ --_ --_ 17 INTRODUCTION Under the Reorganization Act of April 3, 1939, and Reorganization Plan No. 11, the Bureau of Biological Survey, of the Department of Agriculture, and the Bureau of Fisheries, of the Department of Com- merce, were transferred on July 1, 1939, to the Department of the Interior, and under Reorganization Plan No. Ill, these bureaus were consolidated into one agency, know-n as the Fish ,nd Wildlife Service, effective June 30, 1940. Following the practice of the Bureau of Biological Survey, the Fish and Wildlife Service issues this, the fortieth edition of the directory of officials and organizations concerned with wildlife protection, to meet the needs of officials charged with the administration and enforcement of game and fish laws, and for the convenient use of persons desiring to communicate with officials and organizations concerning wildlife conditions in the several States, the Canadian Provinces, Newfound- land, and :Mexico.
