Latin America: Dependency or Interdependence? edited by
Michael Novak and Michael P. Jackson, examines the role of
multinational corporations in Latin America in the context of
social science (dependency theory), theology (renewal in the
Catholic tradition), existing political realities (statism), and eco-
nomic developments (the debt problem). Its aim is to move from
the larger framework of theory toward concrete practices. Practi-
tioners from government, business, and the church, as well as
theoreticians, take part in the debates.
