Capitalism and Socialism: A Theological Inquiry, edited by Michael
Novak,  addresses the problems posed for the world religions by rival
economic  systems. Under the auspices of the Syracuse University De-
partment of Religion and the American Enterprise Institute, some thirty-
five theologians, professors of the humanities, and graduate students
gathered for a week  to sharpen their understanding of the religious
values at stake inder capitalism and socialism. This volume presents
