Summary of two Discussion Papers issued by the Commission in
connection with its reference on privacy. Copies o! the Discussion
Papers are available on request to persons and organisations willing
to comment in detail on the issues raised in them. THE
PROPOSALS CONTAINED IN THIS SUMMARY AND IN THE
DISCUSSION PAPERS DO NOT REPRESENT THE COMMIS-
SION'S FINAL VIEWS. THEY ARE PUBLISHED TO RAISE
ISSUES AND PROMOTE DISCUSSION.
