Message from the President Laura Suttell
Thanks to Margaret Jane Ambrose, our new newsletter editor, and to Barbara Briggs, who served
us well as past newsletter editor. I see the correct title is newsletter chair but I hope you'll over-
look my informality as I extend my gratitude to Barbara and Margaret Jane for their volunteer ef-
  forts.

Our annual spring institute, held April 29 at Syracuse University College of Law, was remarkable,
in part due to the esteemed speakers and variety of topics covered. From a discussion about private
publishers grabbing U.S. government primary law materials to local government modernization to
heart-breaking stories of addiction and loss, the program still resonates with me. Thank you, vice
president and education chair Amy Emerson.

Save these dates: our annual meeting will be held Nov. 4 - 6, 2016, in Auburn. Yes,
Auburn. Something new - I'm looking forward to it already. We'll be celebrating 62 years as a
chapter. The venue will be the Hilton Garden Inn, 74 State St., Auburn, N.Y. 13021. Make sure to
apply for an ALLUNY grant. Free money for our members! You can find details about available
grants on the web site at http://www.aallnet.org/chapter/alluny/grants.asp.

I hope you all found something to be inspired about at AALL, and were able to take in all the
sights at sounds of Chicago. Now I am sure you will all join me in getting back to work!
