As I write this letter to my ALLUNY colleagues, the Winter Olympics are
taking place in Salt Lake City, and snow is on the ground in Upstate New
York. Though it has been a relatively mild winter for most of us (with the
notable exception of Buffalo, buried under seven feet of snow in December),
it's still pleasant to realize that Spring is fast approaching, and may well be in
full swing by the time this message reaches you.
This year the ALLUNY Spring Institute will be held on Friday, May
17th at the H. Douglas Barclay Law Library, Syracuse University College of
Law. Marie Calvaruso, ALLUNY Vice-President, and her Education
Committee are putting together a program with an especially timely theme -
legal aspects of privacy issues arising from the events and aftermath of
September I I th, 200 1. Please be sure to mark your calendars and plan to
