President's Letter
Dear Colleagues:
The First Northeast Regional Conference held in Albany has
received a very favorable response, both from attendees and from
other chapters that are now interested in major programming in
their own regions. Once again, I would like to thank everyone in
our Chapter who worked so hard on making the program a success.
As a footnote to the Conference, after all bills were paid each
sponsoring Chapter shared in the balance remaining., The
distribution of the balance was pro rata according to each
Chapter's original contribution. Our Chapter contributed $500
and our share of the balance was $313.78.
Following up on the discussion at our October meeting,
various possibilities concerning publication of our Newsletter
have been discussed with our Officers and Board and Bill Hein.
The Officers and Board recommended accepting Bill's offer of a
10-business day turnaround time for our Newsletter in exchange
for one free advertisement for a Hein publication.
In response to our need for long-term planning for our
Chapter's organizational and financial strength, I have asked
Margie Axtmann to chair a Task Force on Planning and she has
graciously agreed. The other members of the task force will be
announced in the next Newsletter.
I offer my apologies for the delay in producing this issue
of the Newsletter, and I urge you to attend to the annual dues
notice that is enclosed.
