ASSOCIATION
OF LAW LIBRARIES
OF UPSTATE NEW YORK

Vol.9 No.3 NEWSLETTER MAY 1985

PRESIDENT'S LETTER
Dear Colleagues,
Hopefully, winter is past and spring has arrived in your part
of the state. I'm sure we are all making plans for the summer.
I would encourage everyone to consider attending the AALL National
Meeting in New York City. It has been twenty years since AALL last
met in New York City, so this is a rare opportunity for us. The
programs for this year should provide something of interest for all
types of librarians. The topics range from space planning,
Canadian legal research and federal documents to copyright and
sports law; from the use of microcomputers, comparable worth and
training non-law librarians to the death of the book and how to stay
interested in your job. If any member needs more information or a
registration form for the meeting, please contact me. The deadline
for registration (without a late charge) is June 7, 1985.
I am sure there will be many ALLUNYites attending the national
meeting. We are planning a chapter wine and cheese party (see the
form in this newsletter). I would also encourage any member
attending the meeting to share his/her experiences with those
members who were unable to attend by writing short reports for the
summer newsletter. Please send them immediately after the
convention to our newsletter editor.
The ALLUNY annual meeting will be held in Painted Post (near
Corning) from Sept. 20-22, 1985. Please mark your calendars. I
am sure our Vice-President Lynn Fullshire will have an interesting
program for us.
I am looking forward to seeing you at the national meeting.

Mary Beth Dunn
