PREf IDENTY LETTER
Happy New Year! A new decade ahead for ALLUNY and all its members. I'm proud
to take office as your President and look forward to working with you in the next
few years.
I want to express a very special thanks to the excellent work done by our
past President Nina Fleitas. She gave us all a standard of service and dedication
that will long be remembered. Through her efforts ALLUNY made many strides forward.
She took on numerous tasks and did them all with considerable enthusiasm. Nina, a
round of well deserved applause from all of us.
Our new Vice President, Mary Burch, is already working hard on the next annual
convention to be held next fall. If you have a location you want considered or a
topic dear to your heart, NOW is the time to let Mary know your preferences.
Volunteers are needed! The Membership/Directory Committee, the Nominations
Committee and Publications all need interested people to help share the work.
Please let me know or indicate your interest on your dues form when returning it.
The Association exists to satisfy certain goals of our members. We need to
hear from you exactly what you want accomplished. There are lots of possible areas
we could explore - like workshops for non-law librarians, one day meetings on problems
common to all law libraries, car pooling or plane group rates to AALL national
convention, union lists, special loan policies, etc. Let myself or your officers
know your expectations.
Let's make 1980 the year of Law Libraries and growth.
Susan Wood
